KoNECT provides feasibility analysis support using health insurance claims data from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) and information from nationwide hospital networks. This service offers disease-specific patient population estimates and investigator information to support study planning and site selection. By delivering accurate, data-driven insights, KoNECT supports both domestic and global sponsors in identifying suitable sites and strengthens Korea’s overall clinical trial capabilities.

This diagram shows the information flow for clinical trial feasibility assessment. Step 1: The Sponsor or CRO submits a Feasibility Inquiry Form to KoNECT. Step 2: KoNECT requests information from hospitals. Step 3: Hospitals identify the number of patients based on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and recommend investigators. Step 4: KoNECT provides integrated information back to the Sponsor or CRO. In addition, KoNECT requests public data from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA), and HIRA provides data to KoNECT.
