- Since being designated as a Regional Clinical Trial Center by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2006, the Ajou University Hospital Clinical Trial Center has successfully established a stable infrastructure and an optimized system, and since being designated as a Global Clinical Trial Center in 2012, it has achieved continuous growth by strengthening global clinical trial technological competitiveness and promoting the establishment of an international clinical trial network. The Center is composed of three Units: The Clinical Trial Operations Unit, the Clinical Trial Planning Unit, and the Clinical Trial Management Unit, and provides customized services tailored to the diverse needs of investigators based on expertise in each field. ■ The Clinical Trial Operations Unit primarily conducts Phase I–III clinical trials, characterized by multinational, multicenter, and high-complexity studies. Through various quality management activities within the Unit, it strengthens regulatory compliance capabilities, mitigates risks associated with high-complexity and high value-added services of the Center, and enhances both internal and external competitiveness. ■ The Clinical Trial Planning Unit, based on its infrastructure of expert personnel, secures and manages a wide range of projects by providing comprehensive specialized services. These include clinical pharmacology consultation required in the early stages of new drug development, study design, development of research proposals and protocols, report preparation, project management, monitoring, effective data management and database development utilizing a self-developed e-CRF system (AnyCAP; Anytime and anywhere Centralization and Accelerated collection leads to Perfect data capture and communication for clinical trial), statistical services, and the operation of the Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). Recently, the Center has been operating its self-developed Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) stably and has successfully carried out enhancements to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, thereby further improving the speed, efficiency, and user-friendliness of its operations.
